My Biography... & The Person Behind aMillionJobsToDo...

My name is Chrissi Sharkey and I am a 29 year old part-time textiles teacher living with my husband and 2 small children in Oxford.

Prior to training to be a teacher, I completed a degree in Footwear design and a BTEC National Diploma in Fashion design. I have also worked in facilities management, retail, catering, an office environment and a helpdesk for a large laboratory. These experiences have developed my skills making me, very organised, methodical and a meticulous time keeper. I enjoy planning - from conception to completion and am a great believer in diary management, tackling a giant to-do list and juggling a busy lifestyle with a demanding job.

I am extremely creative and am particularly skilled in textiles and design. I can tackle most projects in this area and am willing to undertake tasks that may seem tedious or difficult for an untrained or busy individual.

My children have also been a great inspiration for my creativity. Through them I have been able to tackle an assortment of different tasks. I have designed and made an array of different novelty cakes for their birthday parties, often completing designs that no one thought would be possible. This also expands into areas such as themed buffet creation and event planning, room decoration, face painting and costume design. Both children have themed bedrooms, one with hand painted sea creatures and the other with giant vinyl wall stickers.

I am not afraid to attempt something new and out of the ordinary. I always seem to go to the extreme with my ideas. For example for my daughter's 2nd birthday I held a pirate themed party with a replica 'Pop up Pirate' cake (see image right) and sent out 40 individually burnt and tea stained treasure map invitations in gold tubes.

When undertaking these unusual experiments and projects, I often receive very positive feedback resulting in others asking me to undertake projects for them. This is why I feel able to provide this service for others and have developed aMillionJobsToDo...
